Harminder Pal Singh is a Gursikh politician of Singapore. The 44 year old Harminder singh had started his political career in 2011 with Singapore Justice Party. He contested the 2011 election as a candidate of Singapore Democratic Allance (SDA). He tried his luck again in 2015, but could not succeed, as the ruling PAP once again succeeded in making the Government. However, he has some rare qualities of leadership which make him a very popular politican. He is an excellent speaker and highly knowledgable about his country and the world in general. He plays the sitar and electronic keyboard and has strong convictions to help the weaker segments of society. His parents S. Gurcharan Singh and Daljit Kaur, being devout Sikh couple taught him Sikh values which he strickly follows. In his words “The Gurbani paaths that my mum and dad taught me and my younger sister come in so useful in strengthening my soul. It gives me the ability to face daily obstacles”. Believing in Gurbani, he is polite, courteous, softspoken and helpful for all. He also takes care of the needs and aspirations of his community. Such a politician who has faith in his religion and values is definitely an excellent role model.
