S. C. Pal Singh

C. Pal Singh was born on 2nd December 1936 at Mandi Sillanwali-Distt-Sargodha (now in Pakistan). His father, S. Gulab Singh was a prominent personality of the district & remained Municipal Commissioner of Sillanwali continuously for more than 25 years. After doing his masters in English literature, C. Pal Singh joined the police service and served in various states of India, on Senior Police appointments. He served as Inspector General of Police – Punjab state. He was also responsible to raise Rapid Action Force (CRPF – GOI) & was the first chief of this elite Central Police force. A Central Police Institution meant for giving training to senior police and administrative officers of the country, known as- Internal Security Academy was also raised by him. His decorations include President Police Medal for distinguished Services, Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Services, Police Special Duty Medal with bar, and a number of other medals, commendations and awards. After his retirement, his face is well known as a top security professional. He is the Advisor, Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) – &-Security sector skill development council (under National Skill development Corporation – Government of India) He is also Hony – Director General – (CAPSI)- Central Association of Private Security Industry – & APDI (Association of Private Detectives & Investigators)- India. He has been appearing in the panel discussions, & interviews of a number of national television channels. His publications, press briefings and interviews have always received wide coverage in the media. He is also a frequent speaker on various forums of National & industry bodies like Assocham, FICCI, CII & skill leadership summits. He is on the Advisory Board of WOCKHARDT FOUNDATION – engaged in social service and human welfare activities for the up-liftment of the poor, weak and needy sections of society. He is the Patron of Kanwar Ashish Charitable Foundation – founded in the memory of his son – Kanwar Ashish Singh(a student of DPS R.K. Puram who was unexpectedly snatched away by the cruel hands of fate on the 20th of July 1998 at a young age) which has been conducting annual inter DPS cricket tournament for the last 18 yrs. He is the president of Children of the World – Delhi – working for the cause of Children welfare- under Ministry of Women & Child Development. CWD is also running various programs for economically weaker segments of society besides organizing health care camps for different under privileged sections. He also takes active interest in religious activities & is on the board of Advisers of Guru Nanak Mission – Sec-37, Noida which regularly organizes religious & social programs – This Mission, is also running a free dispensary & voluntarily care service for the old & aged. Despite having remained on high positions, C. Pal Singh is a humble sikh dedicated to various social, educational and religious activities. He is a role model for all those who want to serve the humanity in the true spirit of Sarbat Da Bhala.
