Gurmel Singh

Gurmel Singh was born on 28.03.1982 in a village in Patiala. After doing his B.Com from D.A.V. Collge in Ambala City and P.G. Diploma in Computer Application from Punjab Technical University, he got his Master’s Degree in Sikh Studies from Punjabi University Patiala. Although he had cleared his U.G.C., but his interest in Sikh religion made him a Research Scholar. He worked with Sikh History Research Board, S.G.P.C., Sri Amritsar from 2007 t0 2009 and then he moved to Hongkong in April 2009 as a Sikh Preacher. Since then S. Gurmel Singh has been working with Khalsa Diwan Hongkong (Sikh Temple) and coordinating with 15000 Indian Sikh Community and other Indian Communities in Hongkong. In addition to his administrative duties including preparing accounts, he organizes various programmes to apprise the people particularly non Sikhs regarding Sikh religion and culture. He has learnt the local language also and had delivered lectures on Sikh religion in Chinese University of Hongkong and Spiritual Assembly of Bahai’s Gurpreet Singh Gurmel Singh Davinder Singh Bindra 500 Sikh 221 Role Models of Hongkong. During this year, he spoke on Sikhism as a pioneer of religious freedom at the international association for religious freedom’s gathering. He has become a role model for the Sikh preachers.
