Deepinder Singh


It has already been emphasized at the appropriate place in this Directory that SALDEF is playing an
important role not only for the Sikh community, but also for other minorities as well as the American
Society on the whole. This role is being played through its directors and members of staff dealing with
various aspects of matters. One of these staff members, S. Deepinder Singh, who did his B.A. in History
and Philosophy and a Masters in Philosophy from Western Michigan University has played an important
role in academics, advancement, policy research and implementation in the roles of professor, academic
administrator and director for numerous centers in the fields of academics and nonprofit, civil-rghts
advocacy. He has also been concurrently Director for the Center for Catholic Studies and Intrfith Dialogue
while serving as a full time Faculty Member in the Philosoplhy and Religious Studies Department.As his
Doctoral dissertation and research was in political philosophy, he has presented his research at academic
conferences, held workshops at major research Institutions, and has been the receipient of numerous
grants and awards. Outside the academics, he is a United States Army Veteran and has served honorably a
numerous areas of conflict. He is from Chelsea, Michigan.
