Management of Takht Sachkhand Hazur Sahib, Nanded

The management of Takht Sachkhand Hazur Sahib, Nanded is also under the control of a Board. After the tenth Guru left the world, the Nihangs continued to stay at Nanded. When Maharaja Ranjeet Singh got this building of the shrine constructed, the Management of the same was taken over by Udasis. Dewan Chandu Lal of Hyderabad had assisted in the construction as well as in establishing the management. During the Nizam’s regime, there used to be Central and Local Committees for the administration of the Sikh Gurdwaras. The Inspector General of Police Hyderabad used to be the President of the Central Committee and the Collector was the President of Local Committee in addition to being the Nizam of the Gurdwara. The Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Board Nanded Act 1956 was passed by the Hyderabad Government and the Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Board Nanded became the administrating body. In addition to running the Sikh Historical Gurdwaras in Nanded, the Gurdwara Board also runs Gurdwara at Pohra Devi to teach Sikhi to the Banzara society, Gurdwara at Partur to teach Sikhi to the Sikligar society, Dashmesh Hospital, Yatri Niwas, Khalsa High School/Jr College, Industrial Training Institute, Primary and Nursery Schools, various Sarais (accommodation for stay for the tourist) and a Sikh Museum (the work is still going on). The Gurdwara Board is also running a programme giving stipend to all Sikh children who are living and studying in Nanded. The Gurdwara Board consists of 17 members which include :

Madhya Pradesh

3 = Nominated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee

4 = Nominated by the Sachkhand Hazuri Khalsa Diwan, Nanded

1 = Nominated by the Chief Khalsa Diwan of Amritsar

2 = Elected by and from among the Sikh members of the Parliament

 

The present board is being headed by S. Tara Singh, MLA as the president (M: 9821141098) and S.
Bhaginder Singh as the secretary (M: 9890011672). The day to day administration of the Gurdwara Sahib
is done by a 5 member Managing Committee of which the Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Nanded (at
present Miss. Anurada Dhakari) is the Chairman and Superintendent of the Gurdwara Hazur Sahib (at
present S. Thath Singh Bungai, M: 9860090335) is the Secretary. The other 3 are local Sikh members of
the Gurdwara Board.
