M.S.S. Guru Singh Khalsa was the first person to become a Sikh under the influence of Yogi Harbhajan
Singh and adopt full ‘Sikhi Saroop’. Born in 1945 in Seattle USA, He had grown into a song writer and singer
recording for Warner Bros. When he met Yogi Ji on 10th January 1969, in Los Angles, he realized that the
Sikh path of living was the true path and he adopted it. Yogi Bhajan referred to him as his “first born”. Their
relationship was not only of master and student, but also father and son. With Yogi Bhajan, Guru Singh
started the first of many businesses that would help to support Sikh Dharma in the Western hemisphere.
This was a furniture manufacturing business that became well known throughout the United States during
the 1970’s. He was ordained as a minister of Sikh Dharma in 1971 and had been trained to teach Kundalini
Yoga and Humanology since 1969. A member of the Khalsa Council since its beginning in the early 1970’s;
a founding member of the School Board for Miri Piri Academy (the Sikh Dharma International School in
Amritsar India), and he is also one of the seventeen founding members of the Siri Singh Sahib Corp. Board . .
. the current body of ministers in charge of administering the overall organization of the Siri Singh Sahib. He
is a role model for his dedication to spread the message of the masters as learnt by him from his mentor. He
spreads the message by moving throughout the world through his books and CD’s of devotional Kirtan. His
wife S.S. Guru Perkarma Kaur associates with him in prachar activities. They have two children who were
sent for education to Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar, and are now well conversant and living in conformity
with the Gurmat Principals.
