Vikramjit Singh Sahney

Padmashri Vikramjit S. Sahney is a well known entrepreneur, educationist & philanthropist. He is the Chair of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Honorary Consul for the Republic of South Africa; Chair of BRICS Agri Business Council, & a nominee of Govt. of India on various platforms such as Board of Trade, BRICS, Indo-South Africa CEO Forum, Indo-Qatar Jt. Business Council, PMs Indo-Africa Business Council etc. He is also the International President, World Punjabi Organisation; Secretary General-Maharaja Ranjit Singh Trust; Board member, FICCI & ASSOCHAM, Member General Council ICC World Chambers Federation; World Economic Forum & Chairman- Sun Foundation. Born on 20th February, 1962, Mr. Sahney received his Master’s Degrees in Economics & Business Administration. Always on the move and excelling in everything he does, Mr. Sahney has scaled the ladder of entrepreneurial success as Chairman -Sun Group (Rs. 4000 crore Group) a market leader & a successful international business conglomerate in Fertilizer sector supporting Make in India initiatives through supplying critical fertilizers & agri-commodities. It has joint ventures & investments in South Africa, Egypt & Qatar & Strategic Advisor to many renowned multinationals all over the globe. Mr. Sahney has embarked upon a journey to create a humane and equitable society through CSR wing – Sun Foundation by reaching out to incapacitated and underprivileged society in India & abroad. The projects include Surya Kiran – free vocational and skill development training to underprivileged women and girls; Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign to raise strong concern about exacerbating sex discrimination and female feticide through awareness campaign and Public interest messages Taare Zameen Par – free skill development centres for the disabled needy youth; Angels of Sun: scholarship to underprivileged children; adopted Shivkarwadi & Suvidha Chawl in Mumbai under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; Running Skill Development at Govt. Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Amritsar; Operating Mobile Diabetes Testing Unit in collaboration with Medanta; Adoption of families of Farmers’ who committed suicide in Vidharbha & Punjab; Sikh Heritage Multimedia Museum at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, highlighting the life & times of Sikh Gurus and key tenents of Sikhism through Paintings, Murals, Translites & multilingual audio/video and several others projects. As International President, World Punjabi Organisation (WPO), he has reached out to over 22 countries. He has formed World Punjabi Parliamentarian Forum; led friendship delegations; produced various light & sound shows like ‘Bole So Nihal’ & ‘Guru Manyo Granth’; organised several cultural events & festivals, annual world Punjabi conferences, Guru Nanak Devji’s birthday celebrations at President & Prime Minister’s house, instrumental in installing an equestrian statue of Sher-e-Punjab, Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Parliament House of India.
