Ajinder Singh Chawla


Ajinder Singh Chawla is a renowned British businessman and a dedicated social worker, who was
born on 6th March 1939 in India. He completed his education in Delhi and then shifted to U.K. He knew
many languages, English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. After doing hard work and using his knowledge and
experience he setup a fashion house in London under the name NOVA. Presently, he is the Chairman of
Nova Groups of Companies. This group deals in women fashion garments and knitted wears which they have
been importing from China, Taiwan and Korea. They also manufacture knitted garments in Leicester. More
than being a renowned business tycoon, S. Ajinderpal Singh Chawla is better known as a great and dedicated
social worker. He had setup a therapy unit at Sri Guru Ram Das Rotary Cancer Hospital in memory of his
wife. Since then, he has dedicated his life to the cause, prevention and treatment of cancer. His campaign
known as Roko Cancer is aimed at fighting against cancer, which is curable if detected early. According to
him the rest of his life is dedicated to this particular cause. For that purpose, S. Chawla has setup a Trust
MKC Trust (Roko Cancer) which is registered as charity in U.K. for fighting cancer in developing countries
and among B.M.E. communities in U.K. For his social service, he was awarded ‘Free man in the city of
London’ in the year 2010.
