Sukhmani Kaur

Sukhmani Kaur is a Russian by birth, who had converted to Sikhism at a young age when she came in touch with Sikhs. She moved to U.K. in 2003 to have closer and better contacts with Sikh sangat. She obtained good knowledge of Sikh religion, Punjabi language and learnt Gurbani Keertan. When she came into contact with S. Jagraj Singh, the founder of Basics of Sikhi Organisation, she was impressed by the functioning and the views of S. Jagraj Singh and became an integral part of this organization. After her marriage with S. Jagraaj Singh, she has been playing a vital role in most of the activities of Basics of Sikhi. She has been performing Keertan and teaching Sikhi & Punjabi to children both within the School environment and camps. She is mainly associated with running the Children’s projects Kiddie Sangat – Sikhi playgroup for young families and a Web-site for Sikh crafts & activities and Mighty Khala books and educational media publishing project. She is also involved in day to day administration of the charity. She is a great role model for all those who are associated and benefited by this organization not only in Europe but almost all over the globe.
