Dr. Karminder Singh Dhillon

Dr. Karminder Singh Dhillon has been an Administrative and Diplomatic officer in the Malaysian Civil Service. He was born in Teluk Intan, Malaysia. He obtained a number of degrees starting from B.Sc in Political Science, a post graduate diploma in Public Management and a Masters in International Relations and International Communication. He added a Doctorate in Political Science. He obtained his education and professional training from Harvard University, the University of Nottigham, U.K., the National Defence University Beijing, Boston University and USM Penang. His outstanding qualification followed by his posting at high positions in Malaysia make him a Role Model. He has served the country in various high positions including Dy. Under Secretary at the Ministry of Defence’ Policy Division Incharge of the North East Asia and Austrialia Desk and also in the Prime Minister’s department for five years and Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs for six years. He had also served as Adjunct Lecturer in the Dapartment of International Studies, UM for six years where he taught Foreign Policy Analysis.
He also taught the theory and practice of Diplomacy. His qualification and practical experience clearly show that he is an expert in International relations and Ext ernal Affairs matters of his country. He has authored books on relevant subjects. His Dilemmas of Developlment: Twenty Two years of Malaysian Foreign Policy in Mahathir Era 1981-2003 was published by the National University of Singapore University Press. His other book is titled reforming the UN Security Council: a third World perspective. In addition to his excellent achievements, he is a devout Sikh who has been doing Keertan, Katha and Parchar independently since 1985. He has been writing regularly for the Sikh Magazine Malaysia, the Sikh Bulletein USA and Bharat Sandeh, India. He is really a great Sikh Role Model living in Malaysia.
