Dr. S.S. Minhas, a distinguinshed Educationist and a scholar, was born on 01.12.1952 in vill. Padahiana,
Jalandhar. He is a highly qualified person with a number of degrees to his credit, e.g. Phd. in Education, M.A.,
M.Ed, M.A. (Mass Comm.). P.G. Diploma in Journalism and PG Diploma in Educational Management. In
his long experience of 30 years in education, around 30 years, he was the principal of an Institution. He
remained Principal of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Rai Singh Nagar, Rajasthan, Amarpuri Public School.
Goindwal Sahib (Amritsar), Guru Amar Dass Public School (Model Town, Jalandhar), Guru Harkrishan
Public School (Vasant Vihar, Delhi) and is presently the Principal of Guru Nanak Public School, Rajouri
Garden, New Delhi (since December 2012). During this long career, he has also been associated with various
Committees like CBSE Governing Committee, CBSE Inspection of School Committee, CBSE Curriculum
Committee in different capacities including being Secretary to CBSE Sahodya School Complexes. His social
activities include services to humanity being a member of Rotary and other such like clubs. These activities
also include his patriotic trips to Kargil and Leh along with 5 male teachers after the Indo-Pak war where he
distributed woolens to the orphans. He also visited Indo-China, Indo-Tibet Border in Sikkim, Nathula Pass
etc. and collected donations for Latur Earthquake, Kargil War and for Tsunami victims etc. The Ld. Scholar
has also written a number of books and contributed articles to different magazines, journals and leading
national newspapers. His publications are Social Science IX & X Work Book, Environment Science 0 to
5th Standard and Guru Nanak Sojourn to Great Himalayas.Apart from teaching and writing, he has also
got a number of hobies and interests which make him a distinguished personality. He has been associated
with various sports like Basket-Ball, Volley-Ball, Hockey and remained Captain of Gymnastic Team. His
hobies include photography, travelling and mountaineering. He was trained mountaineer who trekked to
Gomukh Glacier, Miankani Glacier, Pishu Ghathi, Sheshnag Chandenwari, Tulian Lake, Tangmarg, Khilan
Marg, Beaskund, Rohtang PASS, Hanuman Tibba, Sonmarg, Solang Nullah, Parvati Valley and Mallana
Village etc. Widely travelled, Dr. Minhas has received various honors and awards during his distinguished
career. These awards include CBSE National Award, Remarkable Principal Award, Vijay Rattan and Balkan
Ji International Award. The list of these awards including the awards by different clubs and organizations is
quite long (more than 300).However, the honour bestowed upon him recently by an American University
has got him to lime light.
