Dr. Charan Kamal Singh is a well known name in Sikh circles, particularly, in Punjab, where, presently he is Honorary Director of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana. He was born on 09.08.1962 and obtained high education of Doctorate (PhD) in Veterinary Pathology. By profession, a Veterinary Doctor, presently he is In-Charge of Animal Disease Research Centre, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. In addition, he is popular for being Music Director and a Composer of Gurbani and Sufi compositions. S. Ishmeet Singh, winner of Voice of India award was his nephew. Dr Singh, a postgraduate in vocal music, imparted training to Ishmeet (along with his own daughter Gurleen Kaur, now a prominent professional singer under the artistic name ‘Sargam’). Dr. Charan Kamal Singh is running the institute in memory of Ishmeet Singh very successfully. Dr Singh has launched various training programs in collaboration with foreign music institutes for the aspiring youngsters. Dr. Charan Kamal Singh has composed Music for many devotional compositions.
