There are various Sikh organization in foreign countries which are doing an excellent job for propagating and promoting Sikh religious values, teachings, history and traditions. One of these organization, known
as Basics of Sikhi founded by S. Jagraj Singh in England is a Sikh educational campaign using printed
material and social media, mainly funded and supported by Everything’s 13, a Registered Sikh education
and humanitarian charity. Bhai Jagraj Singh, the founder of this organization started several initiatives in
2012 to raise awareness of the Sikh faith. Some of these initiatives include the Amritsar Visitor Center,
Sikh Press Association and the Mighty Khalsa project. The Sikh Press Association is a media facing project
providing publicity for the Panth. The project runs positive PR campaigns to raise the profile of Sikhs in the
mainstream. Mighty Khalsa is a Sikh kids oriented books, games and apps project. Bhai Jagraj Singh is a
role-model as he has inspired a large number of Sikhs and others by his speeches and actions in respects of
all the initiatives. He has trained dozens of Parcharaks worldwide. When, a few days back it was revealed that
he was suffering from Cancer, the unexpected news left the Sikh sangat worldwide in a shock. In England,
a special Ardas was organized at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Park Avenue in Southall, London for his recovery.
Similar progammes are being organized by the Sikh Sangat worldwide for his chardikala. The great Sikh
role-model, having full faith in God, is himself in chardikala and has given a message for the sangat to
remain in high spirit and continue to act earnestly as Gursikh and work for the mission undertaken by the
organization. His inspiring words as given hereunder show his Gursikhi spirit and raise his status as a true
Sikh role-model “Only Satguru Ji can give or take life away and they are never wrong, only perfect. In all the
sewa that Guru Ji allowed me to do of his beautiful Panth, I’ve made many mistakes and I ask forgiveness
from the sangat. if the Guru’s message has touched you and you feel it’s the truth, I urge you to follow that
truth and become a Gursikh as none of us knows how long we have left. Please do Ardas that Guru Ji gives
me a place in his Charan and keeps my family and the Panth in Chardikala. May the Panth flourish, even if
I am finished, this is pure joy for me.”
