Gursaran Singh, a business tycoon from Jalandhar, Punjab was born on 20th April 1936 in a family of
artisans in village Bundala, Distt. Jalandhar. After completing his education, he along with his brother S.
Rachpal Singh joined their father in a family enterprise in 1954. Earlier they had a workshop, but in 1954
they started manufacturing Rear Axle Shafts. The production of One Axle Shaft a day by manual forging
with chisel and hammer technology, has rise to 10000 Axle Shafts today besides other range of products
such as Gears, Hypoid Gears, Crown wheel Pinions, Ring Gears, Bull Gears and Pinion Shafts, Gear Box
Assemblies, Spindles, Shafts etc., GNA has emerged today as a largest and most modern Group with latest
Technology in entire Asia comprising two units i.e. GNA Gears Limited & GNA Axles Limited, situated
in village Mehtiana, Distt. Hoshiarpur and is an ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 certified Group. GNA has a
strong technically trained work force of 2500 mostly hailing from rural areas. The Annual Turn over of Rs.
15000.00 earlier has touched Rs. 900 Cores today out of which more than 40% is export sale to the OEMs in
the counters like Germany, Italy, USA, France, UK, Sweden, Brazil, Turkey Japan, UAE etc. GNA is member
of PHD Chamber, Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII), Federation of Industries if India (FII) etc. After having setup the manufacturing business
with highest standard of quality and quantity, GNA paid attention towards education and established a
University under the name and style of GNA University which is also operating very successfully at Sri
Hargobindgarh, Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Road, Phagwara. S. Gursaran Singh, who is heading the GNA
Group as Managing Director has been honoured with various awards and appreciations for his wonderful
contribution in business as well as education. He was conferred with Best Quality Man of the Year 1984
by the National Institute of Quality Assurance. Also got Best Vendor Award from Maruti Udyog Ltd.

Components Category –A in 1993-94. In recognition of contribution to the economic growth of State of
Punjab, he was also conferred with most prestigious Udyog Ratna Award by Chief Minister of Punjab in
2005. He has also been awarded with the Forge Master Award in the year 2011 by the Association of Indian
Forging Industry (AIFI), Business Wizard North Award by India Today Group & Life Time Achievement
Award by Jalandhar Management Association (JMA) during 2013. Besides the above, he has received several
National and State Level Awards from time to time. He is known for his spirit of service to the needy people.
