Hargun Kaur


Hargun Kaur, an upcoming multi talented singer, was born on 01.05.1996 in the devout Sikh family
of S. Tajinder Singh and Ravinder Pal at Amritsar. She had her school and college education at Amritsar
and throughout she remained a brilliant student scoring top position. In addition to her academics, she
had an interest in music which gradually became her passion. She started learning music and participating
in various competitions at school, college, university level as well as in various realty shows on different
channels. Some of the realty shows in which she emerged as one of the toppers/finalists included Voice
of Punjab (PTC Punjabi) and India’s Got Talent – 5. She twice got second position in All India Finals
of Surtarane, a singing talent hunt held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi. She also won prizes in Folk
songs competition, poetic recitation competition and won first prize in Gidda Competition organized at
Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh.

She did her graduation in music as a student of BBK DAV College, Amritsar
from G.N.D.U. and got first position. Then she moved to Mumbai, where she has completed first year of
her master’s degree in music and is doing finals from Mumbai University. She has already started giving
performance in high profile functions and events. With a fine blend of classical and contemporary style
of music, her voice suits for all kinds of singing, sufi, folk as well as devotionals and gazals. She has a good
knowledge of Musical Instruments and electronic gazettes and a command over Punjabi, Hindi and English
languages, which add to her self confidence, interacting ability and writing skill enabling her compose and
sing a few jingles for commercial ads. She had already done playback singing for some theatre acts, a telefilm
(Kesgarh Da Waasta) and for a social film on female foeticide (Punya Ek Pari Hai). She has also acted as
an anchor in various social programmes and coined, composed and sang the tag song for Alpha One Mall,
Amritsar – Eithe Aao Happy Ho Jao. The success which she has achieved at this young age makes her an
upcoming role model singer. That she loves her religion and has already recorded a number of Gurbani
compositions (Two shabads for ZEE ETC Punjabi) and a devotional album “Har Ki Wadyai” alongwith
Bhai Gurdev Singh Ji (Her Gurmat Music Teacher). She has already won a number of awards entitles
from number of organizations including PTC, Punjab Youth Forum, Mohd. Rafi Society and Kes Sambhal
Prachar Sanstha. If she was honored as Suron Ki Malika at Geetanjali, she also got an award of excellence in
Instrumental Orchestra at Wagah Border. She has also attended certain memorable occasions as a special
invitee (Delhi CM’s Official Residence, Circuit House and Kotla Sultan Singh, birth place of Mohd. Rafi).
She has also appeared in special interviews on PTC Channel, Radio Virsa from Bangkok and Radio Punjabi
Duniya from Canada. Her special movements include performance in I.A.A. Leadership Awards on Colors
Channel with a special appearance with Shahrukh Khan, Mumbai. We look forward to her bright future
with the hope that completing her masters, she will be able to fulfill her ambition of becoming a successful
playback singer and will attain the heights of success and popularity.
