Rajwant Singh
Rajwant Singh is a well known Sikh in Australia. He was born on 20th March in Ferozepur, Punjab,
India. He had his school education at Government Adarsh School, Shahzada Sant Singh Wala, Ferozepur
and got his Management degree from Punjabi University Patiala in 1990. After that he shifted to Australia
where is started his own business to serve the vegetarian and vegan communities of Australia. He is now the
Managing Director of VegeDilte Restaurant at Sydney, New South Wales Australia. However, he is better
known for his contribution in Media sector in which he is running Punjab Express Newspaper and has been
its Managing Editor right from 2003 till today. He is known for his bold views. His mission is to keep the
Punjabis apprised of the happenings in there parental state of Punjab and present the Sikh view point on
different issues. He has also been active in making and strengthening United Indian Association UIA, which
is an umbrella body representing other 21 associations of India origin. Till recently he was associated with
UIA as the Executive Member of Punjabi Council of Australia. However, when UIA recently elected its new
body, he was made the Joint Secretary of UIA. With this assignment whereas all others are looking forward
to him for his positive contribution, the Punjabi community in general and Sikhs in particular are hopeful
that the issue related to them will get adequate attention and bring them a better recognition in Australia.
The role-model is living in Sydney, taking keen interest in his business and social activities including playing
active role in the Media.
