Sant Baba Ishar Singh Ji Rarewale

Another Saintly personality of the same name Sant Baba Ishar Singh Ji Rarewale had also a large following
during his life time. He was influenced by Baba Nand Singh Ji and later on when Babaji visited his village,
he part took Amrit from him and adopted the life of a Saint. He made his meditation and teaching centre
at Rara Sahib, which is situated on Chawa – Payal – Ahmedgarh Road, 22 km. of South east of Ludhiana.
Sant Ishar Singh Ji and Sant Kishan Singh Ji stayed at this place and the present Gurdwara commemorates
the stay of S. Ishar Singh Ji who was succeeded by Sant Kishan Singh Ji. The magnanimous building of this
Gurdwara called Karamsar/Rara Sahib attracts thousands of followers. There are some other Gurdwaras also
associated with Saintly figures. For example there are Gurdwaras associated with Sant Atar Singh Ji, both at
his birthplace Cheema Sahib and at the place where he breathed his last, Mastuana Sahib. Further, we have
Gurdwara at Patiala started by Sant Kartar Singh Kamalia Wale (Son of Sant Sangat Singh Ji). It may be
mentioned here that to perpetuate the memory of Sant Kartar Singh Ji, an educational society was formed
by an eminent group of educationists which presently runs Doraha Public School and three other educational
institutions, Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Doraha, Institute of Management and Technology and
Doraha College of Education. More details regarding these Saintly figures and their activities along with many
others may be found in other relevant chapter.
