Sardeep Singh


Sardeep Singh, a lyricist and a Script Writer for films, plays and T.V. Programmes was born on
08.10.1960 at Delhi. He has been taking interest in all such activities like lyrics writing, script writing
and stage presentation right from the early age. However, when his show, “Guru Teg Bahadur, Hind Ki
Chadar” was presented three times on Doordarshan, he became popular among the people. The various
songs written by him have been sung by different singers like Mika Singh, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and
Sukhwinder Singh. Some of the songs written by him like ‘Gidde Vich’ by Mika Singh, ‘Sun Soniye’ by
Shaan and ‘Lara Lappa’ by Sukhwinder Singh became quite popular in Bollywood. In fact, he has already
registered with Film writer Association, Mumbai more than 20000 lyrics in Hindi, Urdu and mixed with
English, Punjabi etc. Some song projects are on final touch with popular music Directors like Dilip Sen and
Smeer Sen, Hari Arjun and Vishnu Narayan. There are a number of albums also which have been given by
this Sikh lyricist. These include ‘Roop Jawani Jandi Dhal’ (sung by Gur Sahni of USA), ‘Punjab Kahda’ sung
by Bali Brahmbhat (Times Music) and ‘Pichhe Pichhe Aya’ folk sung by Mushtaq Raja of Dubai (Venus
Music). He has also written script of some T.V. serials like ‘Heart to Heart’ (250 episodes) Channel ATN
and ‘Purane Log Naya Zamana’. Some of the films for which he has given the scripts include ‘Do Duni Char’,
‘Zakhmee Kalam’ and ‘Sarhad Ke Sipahi’ Directed by S.M. Desai. One of the films ‘Nayee Subah’ was written
for International Film Festival. S. Sardeep Singh has also acted in a few T.V. serials/films. For example he
played the role of a Governor in a T.V. serial ‘Mukhyamantri’ on Janta T.V. Haryana. In conclusion, it can be
said that S. Sardeep Singh has set an example of a successful lyricist and Script Writer in the glamour world
by not only remaining in Sikhi sarup but also living the life of a Sikh as a follower of Gurbani.
