Daljit Singh Chhabra
Daljit Singh Chhabra, a leading Income-Tax Consultant, T.V. Anchor and a Social Activst of Jalandhar
was born on 15th October, 1954 at Jalandhar in the house of Late S. Jeewan Singh Chhabra and Mrs.
Inder Kaur. His parents had migrated from Pakistan to Jalandhar where his father earned his living as an
Agriculturist and a Forest Contractor. S. Daljit Singh got his education from Guru Nanak Dev University and
did his L.L.B from University of Lucknow in the year 1981. Since then, he has been practicing as a consultant
on Taxation and Foreign Law. Gradually, he has emerged during all these years as a leading consultant on
Tax Laws. In addition to his roaring practice, he has made the Tax Laws popular among the people by giving
various awareness programmes on Doordarshan Punjabi Channel at Jalandhar. One of these programmes
was, “Asi Te Kanoon”. He has not only interviewed a large number of celebrity figures on various issues
including Tax Laws, but has also appeared as a Tax Expert for giving interviews on Doordarshan Punjabi and Prime Asia ( International Channel) . He has written articles, given lectures and attended various
interactions programmes. Besides being an active member of the District Bar Association, his association
with Gymkhana Jalandhar and Golf Club, P.A.P. Jalandhar also show his socializing activities. He is a role
model not merely for his professional and social activities, but also for his deep interest in Sikh affairs and
activities. He feels proud to be a Sikh and also motivates others for cultivating such a feeling of pride. His
elder daughter and son being settled in U.S.A. and Canada respectively, he often visits these countries. His
son, a Commercial Pilot in Vancouver, Canada and his two daughters, elder one married to Doctor settled in
USA & younger one, a BDS at Jalandhar living as Gursikhs clearly show his impact and guidance to them to
follow the teachings of the masters. The role model Gursikh advocate lives at 46-L Model Town, Jalandhar.
