Guru Granth Sahib Ji – The Eternal Guru

The ‘Adi Granth’, as prepared at the time of fifth Guru and enlarged by Sri Guru Gobind Singh by including the compositions of the ninth Guru in the volume, came to be known as Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Its uniqueness is manifold. Firstly, it is the only scripture, which contains compositions of Saints of other religion also apart from the compositions of six Gurus (the first five and Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji), it enshrines the compositions of 15 Saint Poets, 11 Bhatts and 4 devotee Sikhs. It is also unique in the sense that although, it is written in Punjabi language, Gurmukhi script, we find in it the use of many more languages & dialects used in India during that period. Unlike, other scriptures, it has no story or fable, but a deep philosophy relating to metaphysics and ethics. It contains the science of reality and the art of union with reality. It gives us a vision of truth and opens up new smooth broader paths for the mind of man. It contains universal truth and reflects the wisdom of the spiritual Masters. It is the Guru incarnate for the Khalsa Panth. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is an ultimate guide, the torch bearer on every aspect of the human life. It is a dazzling light in the darkness of the rotten social systems. When a Sikh engaged in any persuit of life follows this light and acts according to guidelines shown by it, he or she becomes a role-model for others.
