Ratandeep Singh

Ratandeep Singh, a Chartered Accountant, became a role-model, when in June 2016, he succeeded in appearing in CFA Institute exam by wearing his Kirpan. CFA institute stands for Chartered Financial Analyst Institute of USA which conducts exams for making the persons qualified analyses. However, Ratandeep Singh was not allowed to appear in Level 2 exam because he was wearing his Kirpan. He did not agree to appear in the exam after removing his Kirpan. Although, he was losing his chance to become a Chartered holder, he insisted that it was his legal right to wear the Kirpan under the Indian constitution so he should be allowed to wear Kirpan which was an article of his faith. However, he was sure that Guru will help him having faith in Gurbani’s verse ‘Guru mere Sang Sada Hai Naale’. In the meantime his matter was taken up by United Sikhs and Mejinderpal Kaur, the legal Director, took up the matter herself to apprise the authorities of the correct position and ultimately the matter was sorted out with in time. Ratandeep Singh thank God and all those who help him in getting this permission. Also decided to join United Sikhs so that he may also help others whenever such a situation appeared. The story of this Amritdhari Gursikh who even did not bother about his progress in career and remained firm in his faith, is highly inspiring for all those who get scared when such a situation arises in life. He is definitely a role-model for all such persons.
