Ustad Narinder Singh Sandhu

Narinder Singh Sandhu, popularly known as Ustad Narinder Singh, was born on 27th August 1958 at Nangal District Ropar, near Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, India. There he got his School education and then did his M.A. in music from Punjab University Chandigarth and Ph.D. from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He learnt music from Nazir Ahmed Khan and Rashid Ahmed Khan (sun) of Talwandi Gharana. Since then he has been teaching music, particularly classical, light music and Gurbani Sangeet. It is because of his teaching for the last 40 years that he has become Ustad of many distinguished singers and musicians. Although he had started his signing career in 1975 in All India Radio, Jalandhar and also later on at Doordarshan T.V., he has spent most of his time in teaching at different places like Harkrishan Public School Vidya, Taran Tarn, Guru Nanak fifth Cenetenary School, Mossuri, Khalsa College Amritsar, Darshan Singh Pheruan College, Rayya, and Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. Ustad ji is a role-model music teacher of many Gurbani singers who are now giving their Kirtan performances at different places in the world. Some of these renowned peoples include Bhai Sarabjit Singh Ladi Gurbani Kirtan, Professor Harleen Kaur, Cheherdi Kala Jetha USA, Snatam Kaur USA, Nirinjan Kaur Canada, Gurnam Singh US, Dr. Harjot Kaur Canada, Rashpal Singh Australia, Rohitashab Bali teacher India, Sukhvinder Singh popular singer, India, Money Laddla, devotional and folk singer, Pamy Hanspal and many other teachers and singers, both devotional Gurbani kirtan and folk.
