Raginder Singh

Raginder Singh Momi is a well known violinist from California. Popularly known as Violinder, he is a role model for the Sikhs as he displays his skill at all the popular sikh events. He was born on 27th November 1992 in Bangkok, Thailand. As his family was lover of music, he was given training right from the tender age of 5. He first started playing violin when he was 11 years old. Later in 2004, he became a disciple of a renowned Indian classical artist, Sisirkana Dhar Choudhury, and has been under her guidance ever since. His music career began in 2011 when he released his first mixtape “Take One…” on December 11, 2011. When he mesmerized the audience with his talent at the time of celebration of the Avtar Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at white house in 2012, he became a big star. Regarding this event he said “Playing at White House was one of the biggest opportunities of my life. It was an honor seeing people from different communities coming together to celebrate. I am glad to be a part of this historical event. It was a wonderful experience and I would love to perform again.” In 2014 he released another Album “Beach Chair”. When in November 2015 the Sikh Coalition and the Los Angeles Clippers hosted the Basketball event during Sikh awareness month, he played national anthem of U.S.A. Since then, he has become a role model for the music lovers and Being exposed to different types of music, Raginder has experimented and tried playing different genres of music such as Hip-Hop, Punjabi, Indian classical and more.
