Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Sarabjeet Singh who remained in Pakistan Jails, became well known all over the Country when she fought for more than 20 years for the release of her brother. Her relentleness efforts to get him his identity and freedom revealed a tale of courage, hope and despair. The spirit of fighting shown by this lady touching seventees of her life made her a role model. In the course of her struggle, she had to pass through a number of difficulties, but she never gave in. Once she came across even a Terrorist group and many a times molestation and humiliation at the hands of Pakistani Army and officials. She had to meet all the concerned authorities including the Prime Minister of India and the Heads of Pakistan administration. The story of her struggle was so moving that it became the subject matter of a Hindi Movie by the name of SARABJEET in which the role of Dalbir Kaur was played by the famous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachhan. This film has immortalized her character and she has become a role model for all the people who believe in struggle for the cause of truth, justice & freedom. However, she is eager to see better relations between India and Pakistan. She has now joined Politics and may contest Punjab Assembly Elections 2017.
