Tavinder Singh Kohli

Tavinder Singh Kohli, a great business entrepreneur and philanthropist, of Sikanderabad, India, was born on 15th June 1950 in the house of late S. Avtar Singh Kohli and late Bibi Inder Kaur Kohli. After completing his education with graduation in Commerce, S. Kohli joined family business of real estate. However, the Kohli family invested considerably in the field of education. S. Tavinder Singh founded Guru Nanak Education Society and is the Chairman thereof. This society provides engineering, pharmacy, dental, MCA and MBA courses to the students. The society also does significant work for propagating Sikh values and teachings in Telangna and nearby areas. S. Kohli is very particular about teaching Punjabi language in the Gurmukhi script among the willing persons, particularly the Sikh youth and children. The knowledge of language is helpful in promoting Punjabi culture. S. Kohli is also a philanthropist who provides funds as well as time for social projects particularly relating to educating the people on drug de-addition. His wife Sdn. Surinder Kaur Kohli, son S. G.S. Kohli and daughter-in-law Gurpriya Kaur Kohli are all associated with the field of education and social work. The family believes in the teachings of the Guru and inconformity with those teaching, S. Tavinder Singh Kohli gives his message as “Keep doing good work even during bsuy schedules, remain up even during low times.” Thus, their faith, words and actions corresponding Sikh way of living in a place far away from Punjab are a great source of inspiration for the people.The loving personality of Tavinder Singh Kohli and his helping attitude really make him a role-model.
