Bhai Harsimran Singh

Bhai Harsimran Singh, a dedicated Sikh preacher and a writer, was born on 4th August 1950 at Ludhiana in the house of a devout Sikh couple Mata Balwant Kaur and Giani Kartar Singh. As he was brought up in a Gursikh environment, he started taking keen interest in Sikh religious affairs right from his college days. He was the President of All India Sikh Student Federation from 1971-1973 and headed Young Sikh Association, Chandigarh from 1997-1998. After completing his education with M.A. LLB, he founded an organization Dal Khalsa in 1978. During the turmoil of Punjab, he even went to jail for raising voice against those who were harming the interest of Sikhism. He has been leading the community by writing books, delivering lectures and providing guidance to the concerned persons. His books show his interest and concern for the Sikh affair for which he is highly worried and is interested in improving the present state of things Many of his subjects are philosophical and present a visionary approach for a bright future of our religion and its followers. His books like Sikh Naitikt da Niti Shastra, Panthak Agenda, Panth da Niti Shastra, Sikh vision 2025, Teesare Badal da Sach, Akaltakht Sahib di Global Drishti and Khalsa Yug de Paindey, deal with the present state of Sikh religion, its values as the same should be adopted and the shape of thing as the same should be in the coming years.

His book ‘Khalsa Panth da Niti Shastra’ has been declared by an American Sikh organization as the best book of 1999 and he has been conferred upon Khalsa award for the same. Presently Bhai Harsimran Singh is the Director of a Senior Secondary School and the head of Bhai Gurdas Institute of advanced Sikh studies at Anandpur Sahib. He has considerable knowledge and a heartful desire that Sikh religion be understood, recognize and appreciated in the right earnest. He is busy in getting his book ‘Vismad : Teesa Badal’ translated into English and also in writing his autobiography ‘Jado Mai Chaar Vaar Roya’ for sharing his views and experiences with the people. He is a role-model community leader who can bring changes in the present rotten system in which Sikh values are getting eroded. We should pray and hope that he will succeed in his mission and benefit the community by bringing such changes.
