G.Jaswant S. Parwana

Giani Jaswant Singh Parwana, a renowned Sikh preacher, was born on first September 1942 at Sri Amritsar in the house of Giani Moola Singh and Mata Tej Kaur. Parwana Ji got his education up to Metric and then obtained religious education mainly from his father who was a Kathavachak of his times. Giani Jaswant Singh Ji also started doing Katha in various parts of country and when he became popular, he also went to various foreign countries like USA, Canada, England, France, New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore for propagating the Sikh religious through spiritual discourses. His popularity as Katha Vachak depends upon his style of narrating Katha. Whenever he explains some Shabad (hymns) from Sri Guru Granth Sahib, he tells about the minute detailed of the Punjabi vocabulary as used by the Gurbani composers. Whereas Gurmat Sagar Trust honoured him as Shirmani Kathakar, SGPC also gave him a similar honour on the occasion of the 350th Anniversary of Sri Anandpur Sahib. He has also won gold medal ever faraway places like New York and New Zealand. He is a role-model Kathavachak because thousands of people want to listen to him when he perform the Katha. He can often be seen at PTC Channel while performing Katha at Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar or on Chardi Kla Channel doing Katha from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Delhi. Recently, when he performed Katha on the occasion of the 350th Anniversary birth of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, he left a deep impression on all the listeners.
