This charitable trust has been setup by a famous business tycoon of India and Dubai, named SPS Oberoi. As God has blessed him with lot of wealth, he has turn into a great philanthropist to use this wealth for the welfare of mankind. He became well known all over the world, when in 2013, he paid blood money for saving the lives of 17 Indian youths who were sentence to death by a Sharjah Civil Court for murdering a Pakistani. Sarbat Da Bhala Trust was setup for such like humanitarian acts. Its mission as explained by the Trust management is to bring a socio-economic transformation of rural and remote areas of India, especially the weaker and socially underprivileged groups, through physical, social, culture and economic development of rural people, groups and institutions. Although, the trust has its head office at Patiala, it has setup its offices in all the districts of Punjab, in many places of Haryana and J&K and also at Delhi. It has further expanded its activities by opening its offices in many countries of Europe, USA and Canada also. The Trust has helped the people in many ways. It has sponsored around 1500 students for their higher studies in various streams like medical, engineering, teaching, nursing, civil services, and doctorate etc. Some of the other activities of the Trust include Running free Gurmat Sangeet College in Amritsar, providing degree course of 3 years in Classical and Stringed Instruments (Tanti Saaz) with free boarding and lodging and monthly stipend of Rs. 500 each to
26 students.
Sponsored all students of Kusht Rog Ashram, Patiala and Kusht Rog Ashram Kaithal for their higher education and donated school vans to various school and social organisations.
Providing monthly financial support to 2500 children from slum areas and taking care of their primary education and meals are also provided to them.
Running Mata Sahib Kaur Girl School, Patiala. This trust has its headquarters in Delhi, but, they have opened their offices at various places in Punjab and Haryana. In addition, they have offices in Srinagar and Nanded. All these offices are managed by the respective teams headed by the office bearers like President, Secretary etc. As S.
