Ravi Singh of England is known as the founder of a Sikh humanitarian relief agency known as Khalsa Aid. This charity registered in U.K. was founded in 1999 and has since then an impressive record of providing humanitarian assistance in a number of countries ranging from war torn regions such as Kosovo, Afghanistan and Syria to areas hit by natural disasters like Pakistan, Turkey and Haiti. During this year, when there was no water is a Maharashtra city or commuters were standard on a rainy day in Mumbai, Khalsa Aid immediately helped the affected people by providing water tankers and in Mumbai by helping them to reach their homes. This organization has also entered Punjab to complete various projects to help the people of Punjab in social and educational spheres and raise their economic standard. These projects include ‘sponsor a child and sponsor a shahid family’. The organization helps the shahid families in making their homes, providing them medical treatment and also other services like arranging weddings meeting education expenses, giving blankets for winter, fans and invertors and also mobility aid for disabled people. Ravi Singh takes keen interest in all the activities. Although, there are some opponents also who criticize the organization for misuse of funds, but till now such allegations have been circulated without any supporting evidence. S. Ravi Singh told in an interview that all the donations received from the sponsors are fully accounted for and are utilized in different projects as per needs and requirements. He said “our donors have full faith in us and send us many messages of support every day.” The headquarter of the organization is in Slough in U.K. and units and assocites at different places in the world.
