Gurdwaras in Uttar Pradesh

The prominent towns of Uttar Pradesh include Lucknow (capital), Kanpur, Allahabad and Agra. In Lucknow, the most important Gurdwara is at Yaiya Ganj named after the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji, who is stated to have stayed here for some time on his way to Punjab. This Gurdwara is also considered as important as it has an old hand written beer. The other Gurdwaras which attract maximum sangat (devotees) are Gurdwara Naka Hindola, Gurdwara Nishaad Ganj, and Gurdwara Indira Nagar. Whereas Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji is managed by a committee headed by the President Dr. Gurdeep Singh, the other Gurdwaras are managed by Singh Sabhas. Gurdwara Naka Hindola is the oldest of these Gurdwaras. Some people relate this Gurdwara with some visit of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at this place in the course of his travels. This Gurdwara has a school where apart from general education spritial education is also imparted. S. Rajinder Singh Bagga (M: 9415023632), the President of this Gurdwara Singh Sabha is also the President of Lucknow Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee with which a number of Gurdwaras are associated for the last many years.
