Dr. Inderpreet Kaur
Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, an Endocrinologist with brilliant academic career in India and U.S.A. is presently
working as Conslutant Endocrinologist at Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala. She had cleared her MBBS in
2004 from Manipal College of Medical Sciences and did her internship at Patiala. During this period, she
had won distinction in a number of subjects like Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine,
Ophthalmology, ENT and Internal Medicine. In fact, she got highest marks in Internal Medicine finals &
topped in University.
When in 2006, the Punjab Govt. had requisitioned the doctors for rural postings she again topped the
list of successful doctors in the district. In 2009, she went to U.S.A. for her M.D. in Internal Medicine and
completed the same with distinction in June 2012 from New York Medical College at Westchester Medical
Centre. She completed her fellowship from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia and was
certified as Diplomate American board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in 2015. During all
these years of her excellent performance in U.S.A., she received number of awards.
She was honored with
“Outstanding Abstract Award” by Endocrine Society, USA for her work on Thyroid cancer in 2015.
Her research publications and case reports have appeared in famous journals. She has also given several
talks on health & disease issues on various national & international media platforms.
Dr.Inderpreet was bestowed with “State Award” by Government of Punjab on 26th Jan’2016 in
recognition of her achievements in the field of Medicine and her decision to come back to serve people of
home country. Dr.Inderpreet is the youngest female Endocrinologist of the country to be honored with this
award.
Over and above, being a great doctor what makes her a Sikh role model, is her interest in Gurbani.
During her early school years, Inderpreet received scholarship in Indian Classical Vocal Music from Centre
for Cultural Sources, New Delhi for a number of years. During her high school, she along with her mother
joined Diploma in Gurmat Sangeet (CC) from Punjabi University, Patiala. Despite the fact that she was
youngest of all her peers in the class of Gurmat Sangeet, she topped the batch. When she released her
Gurbani C.D. in 2009, she became a recognized name in the field of Gurmat Sangeet. Since then, she has
judged several Gurmat Sangeet Competitions in India and U.S.A.
With the blessings of Akal purakh, Dr.Inderpreet Kaur did entire Baramaha (Majh Mahala Panjawa)
written by Guru Arjan Dev ji in Raag Majh- the nirdharat raag & the same has been telecasted on Chardikla
Time Tv on every sangrand (2016-2017) & her CD of Baramaha in Raag Majh will be released this year on
Vaisakhi.
For such a unique combination of medical knowledge and intelligence on one hand and Gurmat sangeet
on the other hand makes her a wonderful role model.
