Giani Santokh Singh

Giani Santokh Singh is a well known Sikh preacher from Australia. He was born on 11th July 1943 in a
village called Suropadda in Amritsar. He got his religious education and training from Shaheed Missionary
College. He worked as a Granthi in Pipli Sahib Gurdawara for 2 years (1958-1960). He served with SGPC
for 12 years on different positions including PA to President Sant Chanan Singh. Giani ji then got a job of
a Granthi in Malawi (Africa), where he worked for 3 and half years and then moved to Australia. After his
arrival in Sydney in October 1979, he under took many jobs, worked very hard and ultimately established
himself as a Sikh preacher. He remembers those days when he worked as a labor, bus conductor and in a bank
and admits that it was a very useful experience.

He learnt so many things including fluent English speaking and started writing articles on different subjects including politics. He started a weekly, Sikh Samachar and carried it on for 6 years (1985-1990). He is a role model as he is a successful speaker, writer and a wonderful world traveler. Where ever he visits (He has travelled all over the world) people are attracted towards him because of his sweet speech, sense of humor and determined views. For example, when he addressed an international Sikh Intellectuals gathering at Patna in September 2016, he made a serious subject quiet interesting and humorous. Ever smiling and optimistic role model has written 7 books on Sikh culture and heritage. He has 2 sons and 2 daughters, who are well settled. He is living with his wife at Sydney at Australia.
