Gurdwara Langar Sahib

The city of Nanded in Maharashtra is famous for Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib and other historical Gurdwaras. However, there is one non historical Gurdwara also situated on the bank of River Godavri, at a stone’s throw from Sachkhand Sahib called Gurdwara Langar Sahib. When Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji left for his heavenly abode, he entrusted the responsibility of continuing Langar at this site to one Bhai Santokh Singh. When Sant Baba Nidhan Singh decided to go back to Punjab after serving many years at Sri Hazur Sahib, he is stated to have a glimpse of the Guru who ordered him to go back and serve at this Langar place so that the Langar tradition is continued. Thus, the old tradition of Langar which was facing difficulties in its continuance, was again started by Baba Ji with a blessing of the Guru and since then it has been running till now without stoppage. Now there is a Gurdwara, there are rooms available for the devotees to stay and there is Langar available for 24 hrs. The present responsibilities are in the hands of Sant Baba Narinder Singh Ji Kar Sewa Wale. The other trusties of the trust looking after the Gurdwara, the rooms and the Langar include Baba Harnam Singh Ji.
