Gurpreet Singh Dhillon

Gurpreet Singh Dhillon is a well known face in Ontario region of Canada as he is an athlete, a business analyst, a community leader and a youth organizer. He was born and raised in Ontario. Presently he is a City Councilor for Ward no. 9 and 10 and has a proven track record of volunteering and giving back to Brampton. He has dedicated himself to the community, working with and empowering at-risk young people through sports. In 2012 Gurpreet founded the MVP Basketball Academy which aims to help keep kids off the streets and out of gangs through sport. He continues to lead numerous programs and initiatives designed to teach young people the values of leadership, hard work, and fair play on and off the court. Gurpreet has also served on the Toronto Police Service’s South Asian Consultative Committee and is currently a Community Ambassador for the Brampton A’s – a Canadian professional basketball team that plays out of the Powerade Centre. Gurpreet strongly believes in the need for a fairer, equal, and affordable society in which everyone can succeed. He has been a strong advocate for the community, and brings this same energy and passion to his role as Brampton’s Wards 9 to 10 City Councillor. Gurpreet is a business analyst by profession and applies this experience by bringing a strong voice to city council. He actively supports programmes and policies promoting job creation, balanced with a keen eye on keeping the quality of life in Brampton affordable for families. Gurpreet believes the municipality needs to begin thinking big and bring a grand vision with fresh new ideas to the table, so the community develops with the best interests of the residents of Brampton as a top priority. His brilliant ideas , dedication towards community and sweet nature and personality make him a real role model.
