Gursagar Singh

Gursagar Singh is a well known name in the field of publication of books, particularly the books on Sikh religion and in Punjabi. He is the well known face of M/s Singh Brothers at Amritsar, who have been publishing and selling such books from the last three generations. The family business was started by his grandfather in 1940 and he now represents the third generation engaged in the family business. He was born on 09.10.1959 at Amritsar in the house of S. Gurbaksh Singh and Bibi Balwant Kaur Ji. By doing his M.A. in Punjabi, English and then his M.Phil from Guru Nanak Dev University, Gursagar Singh became one of the most educated persons associated with the business of Publication and sale of books. His experience in this business includes conceiving an execution of many innovative publishing projects on Sikh studies, which have been well received and appreciated by the Learned Sikhs all out the World. Gursagar Singh says that, “Ignorance is a great curse on this earth. It prevents the overall growth of human skills and is the root cause of all sufferings. The creative grandeur of human mind can blossom only with the light of kbowledge. My mission is to disseminate the light of knowledge shown by our great Gurus with publication of attractive books on the different subject so that the strile-torn humanity is saved”.

He feels proud that he is a part of well knit joint family, who is helpful in his project. He also feels proud to be a Gursikh born in Amritsar and in a family which has a good reputation and respect in Panthak and Acadamic circle. His gursikhi thought inspired by the teachings of the great Gurus and the great spiritual souls of renowned scholars and his qualities of humility, sweet speech and concern for the welfare of all make him a role model for all, particularly for those who love and want to live as Gursikhs.
