Harinderpal Singh

Harinderpal Singh is presently Chairman of Gurmat College and Gurbani Sangeet Academy, New Delhi. He got his Bachelor degree in Commerce from Punjab University, Chandigarh and Master’s degree in Sikh studies from Punjabi University, Patiala. He also did one year Diploma Course in Management, Delhi University, Delhi. He is a role-model among the Sikhs because of his long associations with Gurmat and social activities. Gurmat College of which he is the Chairman is the main educational center for Punjabi University, Patiala for its various post graduation and graduation level courses of distance education. As Chairman of Gurmat College, he introduced a short term Guru Granth Study Course in 2006, which has been going on successfully since then. This course is so popular that the students come from various walks of life and different professional backgrounds like Lawyers, Doctors, Journalists, Teachers, and Students. In 42 lectures various aspects of Guru Granth Sahib are covered.

The lecturers are given by the faculty of Punjabi University Patiala, Guru Nanak Dev University and various other professionals who have expertise in the concerned topic. The topics vary in each session like –
Modern Management Principles in GGS,
Social and Economic relevance of GGS,
Educational Philosophy of the Sikh Gurus,
How to attract youth towards Punjabi language.
Woman Empowerment in GGS etc.
The popularity of the course becomes evident from the fact that various newspapers, T.V. channel and social media sites have appreciated. He also initiated M.A. Punjabi and Diploma in Gurmat Sangeet as courses of Distance education. He is not only a good speaker to speak on Gurmat subjects, but, is also a good writer who has contributed social, political and religious articles in various Journals and newspapers like Sikh Review, Punjabi Digest, Gurmat Parkash, Punjabi Tribute, Daily Ajit, Spokesman etc. He has also presented papers at different platforms like Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjabi University and various others educational and religious institutions and places. In addition to these activities, he is also the President of a charitable society named as SFA (Space For All) Society which aims at sponsoring education for poor and meritorious students. A number of students are availing of this benefit including an acid attacked victim who has been supported and rehabilitated to Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi. This role-model Gursikh, lives in Delhi. He has also been elected as member of DSGMC.
