Harjeet Singh

Harjeet Singh, a well known Sikh Preacher, based in Jalandhar, was born on 08.08.1955 at Jalandhar in a devout Sikh family (Father – S. Shamsher Singh, Mother –Mohinder Kaur). He did his B.com in 1975 and M.A. in Economics in 1977. Due to Sikh family environment, he had a religious bent of mind from an early age. In 1978, he took Amrit and after becoming an Amritdhari Sikh devoted himself to missionary activities. He spent two years with Gurmat Missionary College, Delhi, two years with Sikh Missionary College at Ludhiana and completed his Gurmat education through prescribed courses. Since then he is participating in various religious and social activities run by Sikh Missionary College, Ludhiana.Although, he started his plywood business as a means of livelihood, he focused most of his time and attention in giving lectures and participating in discussions on Sikh religion, teachings and history at various places in India and Foreign countries like Dubai, Germany, Belgium, Canada and America. Sikh Missionary College started a monthly Punjabi journal, “SIKH PHULWARI”, in 1981 and he was made the Editor in 1993 and since then he has been serving in this capacity.

During all these years, he has considerably raised the quality, standard and the readership of this journal. He has been the Director of Sikh Missionary Regular Colleges from 2001-2009. He has always been a member of the Supreme Council and Supreme Panchayat of the Sikh Missionary College. His missionary activities have brought him a good number of honors and appreciations at various platforms. He is also actively associated with many other organizations which are also engaged in such like activities for propagating Sikh religion. These organizations include Panthak Taal-mel Sangathan all Missionary colleges, Akal Purkh Ki Fauz, Kesh Sambaal Sanstha and many others.
