Harpal Singh Walia

Harpal Singh Walia, a young gursikh was born on 18th January 1983 in the house of S. Kawal Singh Walia and Jaswinder Kaur at Kolkatta. He had his school education at Kolkatta and two year at YPS Mohali and then did his graduation and post graduation from Wales Institute Cardiff University (UK). Presently, he is the Director of a finance company in Kolkata now based in Bengaluru exploring some new opportunities. He is a Sikh role-model as he believes that every Sikh, wherever he is and whatever he is doing, is a preacher of the message of love and universal brotherhood as given by the Gurus. At one point of time, he had abandoned his Sikhi sarup, but soon he realized that a Sikh without that sarup could not be a preacher of Guru’s message.Kes was Guru’s mohar and turban on the head was like a crown for the Sikh. He says that “it is one of the history’s enduring symbols of the fight against oppression. Thus, he took Amrit and became an Amritdhar Sikh, who wants to lead and project the life of a Gursikh. He not only recites and listens to Gurbani, but also tries to find out the meaning and its applicability in life.
His message to all the youngsters like him is “Is that the Sikhs should not only simply listen to Kirtan, but, also understand the arth of the shabads that are being recited and then their lives would become filled with bliss”. He is married to Dilmeet Kaur, who is also an Amritdhari Lady, and the couple has been blessed with one daughter.
