Inni Kaur, a writer, poet and a painter, settled in USA, was born in Kuwait city. She had her early education at Kuwait city and then at University level, she studied at Sacred Heart College, Dalhousie, India. Before moving to USA in 1982, she lived in New Zealand and Greece. In USA she joined the business of her husband and became the Vice-President ‘Spectrum Communications’, an Advertizing and Marketing Communication firm based in Norwalk Connecticut where she is presently living with her family. She is a well known writer, poet and an abstract painter she became all the more popular when her book series for the Children entitled ‘Journey with the Gurus’ was published. Three volumes of this books have already been published. In this popular work she has crafted an image of Guru Nanak as egalitarian, wise and patient, kind, spiritually rational and caring and approachable for all of us. It is not only the interesting style of storytelling by the author that makes the book popular, but the coloured drawings that accompany each story are also exquisite. It is undoubtedly her valuable contribution to the world of Sikh children’s literatures. She is also actively associated with Sikh community affairs. She speaks at Seminars to create awareness about Sikh issues. When she spoke at Yale and Fairfield Universities and made presentations to the Connecticut State Board of Education, as well as to the local police department, she performed her duty of spreading useful information about Sikhism. She also visits various schools from time to time. She is on the Editorial Board of Nishan, a magazine celebrating Sikh heritage and culture and is an active board member of the Interfaith Council of Southern Connecticut. She also serves on the boards of the MBSK Foundations, the Namaskaar Foundation, and the Sikh Research Institute, as well as on the Advisory Board of the Sikh Family Center and the daily online magazine Sikhchic.com She teaches at the Guru Gobind Singh Academy in Norwalk, and has also been an instructor at various Sikh youth champs. All these facts establish that she is a dedicated role-model Sikh preacher.
