Ishar Singh

Ishar Singh, a Sikh preacher, based in Bhopal, was born on 14th November1934 in District Gujarat (now in Pakistan). He completed his educational qualification with a Master’s degree in Maths with statistics in 1957 from Meerut College, Meerut (Agra University). He worked in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and retired as Joint Director. After retirement he worked as specialist in State Finance Commission, Madhya Pradesh. He is a role-model Gursikh because of his services for the Sikh religion throughout his life. He actively participated in All India Sikh Students Federation, Bhopal circle from 1959 to 1984. A large number of Gurmat trainings camps were organized by him during all these years. He has been the Working President of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha right from 1973 till today. He edited the Madhya Pradesh Gurmat Samachar Magazine of the Singh Sabha from 1980 to 1984. He has also been the Chief Editor of Madhya Pradesh Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha Newsletter from its beginning in 1997 till date. He worked as a treasure in Guru Nanak Vidhayak Society, Bhopal. Despite his great services for his community, he is quite soft spoken, humble and modest. He always says that whatever he did, it was with the cooperation of various religious, educational and social organizations. There are number of other devoted and dedicated workers. In fact, it was always a team work. The fact is that only a role-model like him can give such a credit to all others. He has definitely left an impression of a sincere and dedicated worker which will inspire the younger generation.
