Jaswinder Singh Sethi

Jaswinder Singh Sethi is not only a renowned business tycoon in the Pharmaceutical Industry of India, but is also a social activist, a philanthropist and a gursikh to promote the Sikh values. He was born on 28th March 1952 at Firozepur and had his education there only. He completed his graduation and requisite pharmacy qualification as he wanted to setup a Pharmaceutical industry and for that he moved towards Baroda in 1958 for fulfilling his ambition. He setup COMED Chemicals Ltd., a Pharmaceutical Formulations and Empty Hard Gelatine Capsules Manufacturing Company.The said company is now counted among the top 100 pharmaceutical companies of India and has manufacturing units at Baroda and Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. He is a role-model not merely because of his business empire setup by hard work and dedication, but also because of his social and religious activities.
He is a leading figure in the social and religious functions of the community in the cultural city of Vadodara. He is always enthused and found engrossed in propagating the Sikh way of life as he is convinced that the path shown by Gurus is what makes a “Human” out of a man. He firmly believes in “Sarbat Da Bhala” and Rehat Maryada that includes Kirt, Naam and Kirtan and is associated with Gurudwara Nanakwadi and Gurudwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Channi in Vadodara. He loves to share his knowledge and experiences gathered from his world wide tours. His untiring efforts in serving the community and humanity at large are evident from the institution like Guru Nanak Public School run by the trust envisioned by him. This school imparts regular high standard education to about 2000 children of those parents who cannot afford glamorous schools of today. As the Chiarman of ITI (Industrial Training Institute), he not only guided them to enhance the value of education to its students but in addition worked for the establishment of another ITI exclusively for Girl students. This effort of his helped shaping the lives o many girls which otherwise found it difficult to pursuer the career of their choice. He ensures that Gurupurabs are regularly celebrated at his own manufacturing plants where the neighbouring villagers are invited in large numbers to take the Prasad without any consideration of cast, creed or religion. He is instrumental in bringing to India Gurmat Crash Learning courses from Canada that help keep the next generation to follow the path as enshrined in the scriptures and propagated by the Gurus. S. Sethi has many Gursikhi qualities like humility, accessibility and attitude to help everyone. He donates for any Good cause.
