Kuldeep Singh was born on January 8, 1938 in Village Charund about 10 kms from town Mandi Bahaudin (now a Distt. in Pakistan) in the house of S. Mohan Singh and Mrs. Isharan Devi. After participation, his family moved to U.P. in India where he got his education at different places, graduated from Agra and completed his M.A. (English Litt.) from Agra University in 1960. He served as a teacher in MP from July 1960 to January 1962 and thereafter, he was selected as Block Development Officer by U.P. Public Service Commission ALLD. in January 1962. However, as he was impressed by the motto of Swami Ram Tirath “I want to become a teacher or a preacher ”, he spent most of his spare time in studying different religions and literature of different languages. He had proficiency in Hindi language so he started writing in Hindi and contributed articles to different magazines. After Operation Blue Star 1984 he considered it his duty to present the message of universal brotherhood of Gurbani in Hindi as an epitome of S.G.G.S. to apprise the Hindi reader in India and abroad. His first book in Hindi ‘Mangal Kalash’ appeared in 1998 and was released by Sh. K.R. Narayan, then President of India. In this book of 320 pages, the learned author has explained 300 hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib for the benefit of the Hindi readers. When he got fellowship from the Ministry of Culture to write on medieval devotional literature, he wrote ‘Mukti Ke Span’. Although, this book is also in Hindi, the writer has dealt with devotional literature of 16 regional languages and made a comparison as to provide an intellectual view of comparative religions. There is a monograph in English, Sharan – Vani Gurvani in which 25 shabads have been compared with the Vachans of South Indian’s Saint like Vasav and Alama. He Attended three National Hindi Sahitya Sammelan at Bangalore, Trivendrum and Guwahati as delegate. He also participated in 8th Vishwa Hindi Sammelan as delegate in July 2007 at New York. He is very well known for his frequent devotional postings on facebook. His interest in Sikh religion is evidenced by these postings wherein he generally interprets and explains various hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib. It is also noted from these posting that he has made an elaborate study of growing popularity of Sikh religion in various countries of the world, particularly the Latin American countries like Santiago, Chile and Brazil. He is in contact with various devotees of Sikh faith at these places and often interacts with them in English by posting on the facebook and makes them conversant with Gurbani verses. He believes that internet is a good media for developing interfaith relationship and propagating our religion. In short, his interest and dedication as a writer at this advanced age inspire the people. He is definitely a role model in the sphere of Gurmat writings in Hindi. All his three children are well settled in their life and are living at their stations of posting. He is living alone at Allahabad.
