  1. Kulvinder Singh Sethi also known to many as Vic Sethi is a Leicester based businessman who migrated from Kuwait during the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq in 1990.
  2. The family stayed back in Kuwait during the invasion by Iraq on the 2nd of August 1990. They left Kuwait around October to November of 1990 via flights to Amman (Jordan) from Baghdad and then Indian Airlines from Amman, Dubai, Mumbai & finally to Delhi.
  3. Vic migrated to the UK in 1991 from Delhi and started his career by joining his family business in Manchester with his uncle Mr Jaswinder Singh Kohli (Bawa Kohli Ji) who today runs a Trust in Punjab educating 100,000 and more children free of charge and is transforming their lives.
  1. In 1994 he got married to Dimple Kaur Sethi and joined the family business Anand International Limited based in Leicester which was founded by his father-in- law Mr Anand a well reputed renowned businessman. The company is based in Meridian Business Park and run by Vic, his brother Jay and uncle Babu including their partners (wives).
  2. The business employs 45 to 50 persons and distribute premium brand batteries, LED Lighting, Consumer electronics and other related products to major multiple retailers, supermarkets, wholesalers and export globally.
  3. Vic is the Chief Patron to Crimestopper’s and a cultural ambassador to the Leicester Cathedral.
  4. He is on the Courts of the University of Leicester and through their family trust Anand & Sethi family trust they support various charities organisations locally, nationally and internationally for good causes. On Thursday the April of 13th Vic along with The Dean of Leicester Cathedral David Monteith supported and hosted Royal lunch for Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh during the visited Leicester and its Cathedral to complete her Maundy visits to the English Anglican Cathedrals. Vic and his wife have also attended dinner at the Palace with HRH Price Charles and HRH Camilla. He is very loyal to Kuwait as he grew up there. He supports the Kuwaiti students studying in Leicester with any help or support they may require. Jointly they had a great Kuwait National and Liberation day celebrations at DMU early this year which was highlighted in a few magazines around East Midlands.

He attends the Kuwait National and Liberation day celebrations hosted by the Kuwait Embassy London at the Dorchester Hotel and respects HE Mr Khaled Al-Duwaisan the Ambassador to the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in London. A lot of his families are still based in Kuwait and has strong ties with a lot of Local Kuwaiti’s including members of the Royal families of Kuwait. He has been on boards of various organisations such as The Prince’s Trust, GNG FC, Courts of University of Leicester and many others. Vic Sethi has recently become a trustee of Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland. His new role will see him supporting the local homelessness charity in their vital work across the region.

  7. Vic Sethi a businessman of Leicester visits His Highness Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah for his recovery after a major operation in London
  8. Vic Sethi has also been listed in the Leicester Mercury’s “Most Influential” list year on year
  9. His Highness Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah is the son of the great Sheikh Fahad Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who was the founder of the House of Sabah and a Kuwaiti military officer who was also the founder of the Kuwait Olympic Committee. he had also led the Kuwait Football team to World Cup in 1982. Sheikh Fahad died fighting alongside the Kuwait Emiri Guard Brigade in defending the Dasman Palace in August 1990 against the Iraqi army Sheikh Fahad Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah had made the referee to overrule his decision and take the goal back during the Worldcup Football match between Kuwait and France., which had never happened before in the history of the World Cup. He stopped the game and ordered the players to come off the football pitch during the World cup game which was being watched by millions. His other son is Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and they are the family members of the ruling party of Kuwait and is the nephew to the Emir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
  10. He came to the Uk for a major surgery and with the grace of Almighty he has recovered fully and has been in the UK since then. He is planning of travelling back to Kuwait in a few weeks. Vic Sethi of Leicester who grew up in Kuwait since the 70’s is a passionate supporter of Kuwait, the ruling family and the people of Kuwait. Vic wanted to meet up with Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad to congratulate him for his speedy recovery in person.
  11. He arranged to meet up with Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad which was arranged by one of his friend in Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah.
  12. The Royal family members have always been known to be very humble and welcoming, on the way to his residence Vic met up with Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad’s son’s, relatives and friend’s. As soon as Vic arrived to his residence he was introduced to his son Sabah by Mr Masoud Abu Marzouq. Sabah greeted Vic with warm welcome and thanked him for coming to specially meet is father, he asked Vic about his life in Kuwait. “He was so welcoming and made me feel at home, that it felt like we knew each other for years”, Said Vic.
  13. Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad entered the residence and met Vic with a warm Kuwait style welcome. Vic says,” I was so pleased to see our Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad in great health and fully recovered from his surgery. You usually hear from people that a person is recovered but seeing someone recovered gives you that extra comfort. As soon as he entered his residence he met me so nicely in a proper Kuwaiti style and then we gave each other a big hug”. Vic discussed about his life in Kuwait since a child and then spoke about the City of Leicester and requested him to visit Leicester City whenever possible. He told him that there were around 100 Kuwaiti students studying in Leicester and they would be so pleased to see him in Leicester as he is the role model to thousands of Kuwaiti’s and they all have a lot of respect for his father Late Sheikh Fahad Ahmad Al-Jabar Al-Sabah who gave his life for the country. He will never be forgotten. Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad said he will try his best to visit Leicester before he travels back to Kuwait and Vic said he would take him to meet the students and also show him around including a lovely meal in Leicester.

Vic Says, “I am looking forward to Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad’s visit to Leicester and am also very grateful to my friend Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah, Mr Ambar Al-Faisal Al-Mutairi and Mr Masoud Abu Marzouq for their support. I would not be here where I am today in life if it wasn’t to the support Kuwait has offered me and my families in Kuwait. The same goes to Britain… ”His brother Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah is the most powerful personality in the FIFA today. ic met up with some of the Canadian Parliamentarians and thanked them for their support to the multi-faith communities of Canada.
