Lt. Col. Jagtar Singh Multani

Lt. Col. Jagtar Singh Multani was born on 10.02.1944 at Village 441-Chack Distt. Lyalpur (Now in Pakitan) in the house of S. Bhagwan Singh Multani and Mata Surjeet Kaur. As he was born and brought up in a Gursikh Lubhana family, he had a religious bent of mind from young age. He obtained his B.Tech (Electrical) qualification from College of Military Engineering followed by Diplomas in Personal Management, Industrial Relations, Marketing and Financial Management. He also did Export Management Course from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi and Course in Quality Control Management (TQM) from Army Institute, Bangalore. With such high qualifications, S. Multani joined Army service where he was involved in planning of cantonments, execution of products, running and maintenance of installations and other technical secret assignments. After 33 years of service in the Army, he sought retirement and joined a MNC, Container Leasing Company Group of Valmier Lari as Manager Quality Control. However, the best part of his personality was highlighted by his social work done by him with Baba Makhan Shah Lubhana Foundation, International Sikh Confederation and with Baba Sewa Singh Ji of Khadoor Sahib. Baba Makhan Shah Lubhana Foundation acted as a Nodal Agency for distribution of Insurance benefit under the Life Insurance Scheme of Jan Shri Bima Yojna. Through this scheme, many poor families were given the benefit. Lt. Col. Multani (Retd.) played an important role in this regard. Similarly, through the awareness campaign by International Sikh Confederation and its associated NGOs, three lac students from the Minorities got the benefit of Minority Scholarships given by the Central Govt. Further, in 2012 when a project was conceived by Sikh Sangat T.V. Birmingham U.K. to help those Foujies who had stood against the Army action in 1984 and were Court Martiled for the same, Sangat T.V. collected Rs. 2 Crores for distribution in India for this purpose. S. Multani was entrusted an important job by Baba Sewa Singh Ji Khadoor Sahib Wale to identify the beneficiaries. It took three month s to finalize and close the project by distributing Rs. 20 Million to more than 350 entitled Dharmi Foujies. S. Jagtar Singh Multani is also associated with other social and religious activities. It is evidenced by the fact that he remained President of Resident Welfare Association, Sector 33, Chandigarh and General Secretary for federation of a group of 60 RWAs from 2012-2014. He is also actively associated with Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Bhai Jaita Jee Foundation and Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Foundation, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Guru Angad Dev Educational Sociey, Nishane-Sikhi Khadur Sahib, Sikhs helping Sikhs, Baba Ayya Singh Riraki College and School. Undoubtedly, he is an indefatigable worker and is always desirous of serving the people. He is truly a role-model.
