Nicky Pavan Kaur was born on 10th July 1962. She received her School education from Loreto Convent School, Asansol and higher education from Loreto College, Darjeling. Right from her young age, she was keen to study the fundamentals of Sikh relgion with which she was highly impressed. She undertook comprehensive self study of various commentaries on Sri Guru Granth Sahib by such scholars as Giani Kirpal Singh Ji and Bhai Veer Singh Ji. She was married to a devout Sikh from a business family in Amritsar. She worked as a successful Entrepreneur for several years and then felt an urge to do something concrete for the disabled people. She had a desire to empower them as to make them lead their lives as best as they could. It is this desire which prompted her to open a Rehablitation Centre and home for such persons. This kind of rehabilitation centre and home has been started by her for persons with Spinal Cord injuries/brain injury at Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan under the name of Chandigarh Spinal Rehab. This is the first centre of its kind in Northern India.

Nicky Pavan Kaur manages the affairs of this Centre herself and looks after the patients as if they are members of her own family. Her personal attention and guidance to the doctors and attendants makes the patients comfortable. Many of them, when cured feel highly impressed by the behavior and spirit of service of thie Role Model Gursikh lady. She has a firm faith in the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and tries to live her life accordingly. Giving importance to the basic principles of Sikhi, Sewa and Simran, she has dedicated her life in this regard. She is definitely a great source of inspiration for all those who want to serve the humanity.
