Non Historical Gurdwaras in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh

We have a good number of Gurdwaras in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Both in Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, there are not many Gurdwaras which are managed by registered Singh Sabhas. There are committees elected by the people of the respective areas to look after the management of these Gurdwaras. For example, there are Singh Sabha Gurdwaras both in Kullu and Manali. The Kullu Gurdwara situated in the main bazaar can be contacted on the number 01902-223598. The Gurdwara at Manali is situated at School Road near Hilton Hotel, main bazaar. Its contact number is 01902-252866. Its email is lovking2003@yahoo.co.in. In both the Gurdwaras boarding and lodging facilities are available for the visitors. The President of Kullu Gurdwara is S. Gurbachan Singh Babbu (M.: 7831854400), S. Tajinder Singh is the Secretary and the committee in Manali Gurdwara is headed by its President S. Jasbeer Singh Gulati. So far Shimla is concerned, the capital city has, 8-9 Gurdwaras, but the most important is Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha located near Bus Stand near Rippeu Hospital, CPRI Road, Shimla. Its contact number is 09817362500. The Managing Committee of this Gurdwara is headed by S. Jasvinder Singh (9816030005).

Other Sikh Religious Places in Himachal Pradesh

Apart from Singh Sabha Gurdwaras, there are some Sikh religious places in the form of Gurdwaras which attract a large number of Sikhs and others. These places are not Gurdwaras in the real sense, but Sri Guru Granth Sahib has been installed at these places too and the people visiting these places pay their obeisance before the Guru scriptures. These places are managed by certain individuals/groups having a particular following of the leaders of such groups. For example, in Himachal a large number of Sikhs visit Dera Badbhag Badbhag Singh. Situated near Una Town in Himachal Pradesh Locally, this scared shrine is called Gurdwara Manji Sahib. It is situated atop a hill and is a popular religious site in the area. Each year a festival called Baba Badbhag Singh Mela or the Hola Mohalla Fair is held here; the festival is reckoned to have some magical powers. Many people suffering from mental sickness and under the influence of evil spirit visit here in the hope of getting cured from their diseases. It may be made clear that such things at Dera Badbhag Singh are not in conformity with Gurmat ideology,
