Principal Sukhwant Singh, a renowned Sikh preacher and a classical musician of Sikh religion, was born on 1st April 1971 at Gowahati. He is so actively associated with Gurbani music that he has dedicated his entire life in teaching this valuable genre to the young generation as to keep them attached with their religion and Gurbani. Many prominent Sikh Ragis have learnt classical Gurbani music from him. He is presently Director of various National and international Academies, namely Baba Sucha Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Taran Taran), Baba Sucha Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Sri Amritsar), Baba Harnam Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Jira), Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Singapur, Malaysia), Bhai Mardana Ji Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Sauhana, Mohali), Shri Guru Granth Sahib Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Mumbai), Guru Nanak Sangeet Academy (Pune), and Baba Fateh Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy (Israna, Panipat). He was also the anchor of ‘Raag Ratan’ (Chennal Punjab U.K.) 2006. He is also the member of the Governing Body of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana. He has served as a judge in various Gurmat Sangeet competitions including ‘Bhalo Bhalo Bhalo Re Kirtania’ 2009 competition at Chardikala Time T.V., ‘Anhad Naad’ Competition at Zee Punjabi in 2012 and 2013, First and Second International Gurmat Sangeet Competition at Singapore (2008 and 2013) respectively and ‘Raag Ratan’ competition at Fateh T.V. 2015. The learnt musician has won various awards and honours like Punjabi Maa Boli Purskaar (Ludhiana 2007), Gurmat Sangeet Purskaar (Zira 2008), Punjab Desh Sewa Ratan Purskaar (2010), Sant Sujan Singh Purskaar (Delhi 2010), Bhai Samund Singh PUrskaar (Lucknow 2014), First Bhai Amrik Singh Zakhmi Purskaar (Ludhana 2014), and Raag Naad Shabd Sohney Purskaar (Fateh T.V. 2015). Late S. Ishmeet Singh, the celebrated voice of India and presently the famous Sikh singer S. Davinder Singh have received training under him like many other prominent singers. It is heart desire that Gurbani Sangeet be popularize among the youth so that the message of Universal love and brotherhood as given by the Masters goes across the people of the world. He is really a role-model in this respect. Presently he is teaching music at Khalsa Parchar Baba Fateh Singh (Regd.) at Pind Amarkot, Jandiala Guru, Amritsar.
