R.S. Sodhi

Sikhs are in a very small minority in India and other adoptive countries, so, whenever a Sikh outside Punjab or in any other country rises to a top position, he raises the head of all the Sikhs with a feeling of pride. Recently, when S. R.S. Sodhi, a Gursikh got a second term extension as MD of AMUL, this news was taken by the Sikhs as a matter of pride. Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, popularly known as AMUL Milk is one of the biggest co-operatives in India. S. R.S. Sodhi was working as its Managing Director and was to retire on 31.12.2015, but then his term was extended for another five years because of his excellent performance in the past. While extending the term, Shri J.P. Patel, Chairman of the Federation said that Sodhi had done a remarkable job especially in marketing. The sale increase of the Federation’s products was marvelous. Shri R.S. Sodhi, after doing his MBA from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) started his career with the Federation as Manager Sales. Everyone was so impressed with his work that he could reach the top and became Managing Director. Now, with the second term in his hand, he has plans to boost the business to further heights. He has also been appointed to the Board of India, post payments Bank as an Independent Director. His long experience and expertise in corporative matters and connecting with rural people are expected to come in handy for the dream project of P.M. Narendra Modi. S. Sodhi is confident that he will be able to increase the turn over by Rs. 50,000 Crores by 2020 due to rising demand for Milk and other items.
