Samsher Singh Sandhu, a well known Canadian poet, was born on 3rd March 1937 in Punjab. He obtained his M.A. and M.Ed. degrees and spent his life in teaching profession. He became a role-model when he shifted to Canada after his retirement in 1997 and there he learned the art of writing ghazals. He started writing ghazals in 2002 after the age of 65 and became popular for the same. Presently, when he has turned around 80 he is best known for his beautiful ghazals. These ghazals have inspired such a good number of person that he has become a role-model ghazalgo. He lives in Calligory Alberta, Canada.
