Sat Hari Singh Khalsa

Description

Sat Hari Singh Khalsa was born in 1950 in Rostock, Eastern Germany in a German family. When he came into contact with Yogi Harbhajan Singh, he was impressed by his Kundalini Yoga disciplines. He learnt the art of Kundalini Yog and became a Sikh with Sikhi sarup. Gradually, he mastered this art and in 1986 he published his translation of Japu Ji Sahib in German. It may be mentioned here that many mantras used in Kundalini Yoga are from Japuji Sahib only. Thus, a German translation of this magnum opus of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji propagated the great composition and the mantras contained therein among people, particularly the foreigners. Sat Hari Singh then started composing mantras in his sweet voice and prepared CDs in large number. His music is best characterized by his unique style. In a numbers of CDs made later on, he is a accompanied by the enchanting voice of Hari Bhajan Kaur. Althoug, Sat Hari Singh is one of the pioneers of Kundalini Yoga in Germany, he is also among the founders of Yogi tea. In September 2008, Sat Hari Singh opened the Golden Temple Tea House in the heart of Hamburg. He thereby created a space for Yoga, Mantra-music, relaxation and cosiness. He has also shown his great regard for Yogi Ji whose life and achievements have been narrated by him in his another book ‘Yoga der Liebe’ (Yoga of love). His CDs sell in great number and as such he has become a role-model for his sweet music and Gurbani recitation in the form of mantras. He should not be confused with that S. Sat Hari Singh who was a subway train driver and who had saved countless lives by reversing a train headed for ground zero on 9/11 day although he also proved himself a great Sikh role-model.
